Our Story
MealKitsCanada.ca began in 2016 as a food blog by Kyle Prevost, a Canadian educator and writer with a passion for trying new meal kits. What started as Kyle’s personal project to track his cooking adventures quickly grew into a resource that other Canadians relied on for honest insights.
Kyle Prevost – MealKitsCanada.ca Founder
Today, Kyle has moved on to new challenges, but his enthusiasm for good food and curiosity about meal delivery continue to inspire our work. What began with one person’s blog has now evolved into a dedicated team of food lovers committed to testing, reviewing, and comparing meal kits across Canada.

Our reviews are based on real experiences and consistent criteria so you can trust our recommendations. Here’s how we do it:Hands-On Testing: We order and cook meals from each service to evaluate taste, freshness, and portion sizes.
Price & Value Tracking: Every review includes up-to-date cost per serving, promotions, and subscription flexibility.
Menu Variety: We look at dietary options like vegetarian, vegan, low-carb, and family-friendly choices.
Convenience Factor: From delivery speed to ease of cooking, we measure how practical each service is for everyday life.
Canadian Focus: We only review meal kits and prepared meal delivery available in Canada—no irrelevant international options.

Does your Company deliver to Ottawa? Do you have Keto or Low Carb meals?
We don’t deliver meal kits but you can find the best options for your own zip code using our tool – meal kit finder – here.
Hi Catherine,
Hope you are doing well. I can recommend a great place you should check out. They deliver wonderful KETO meals to your door step. They also have a variety of meal packs suited for everyone. And the best thing about them is that they have a KETO bakery and many KETO desserts! I hope this was helpful!

I don’t seem to see the contact information for Kyle Provost – so I hope to share my experience with you about Good Food_ this company has a phone number listed but really it’s only an online contact available. This is an issue for seniors who may be computer iliterate. So as a dietitian I cannot be recommending this company to my patients.
Angela, thank you for sharing. The site’s staff, including Kyle, come from a Fintech background. We are HUGE believers in moving away from telephone sales to a fully automated process. We do realise there are people who are computer illiterate but this is just where this world is progressing. I think GoodFood are able to offer such a relatively good price for a meal consisting of fresh ingredients by having less overhead costs (as a result of an all-online service). Curious to hear further thoughts on this and thank you.
It would be great if you could take environmental impact into consideration in your reviews. I’ve noted, with Good Food at least, that their claims are false. They do not pick up boxes, and the components are not all recyclable in Ontario. It is 2020 — they should figure this out!
Thanks for the reviews. I noticed that you say delivery is free for most companies, so I thought you might want to update that Hello Fresh is charging $9.99 for delivery (I live in New Westminster). The boxes are coming in at $79.98, so with the delivery it is costing $14.99 per meal.
Just for the record…Hello Fresh does NOT have single serving meals…regardless of what they advertise or say. I spoke with them, and they said their idea of a single serving portion is (get this) to buy a 2 person serving, and call it a single serving with leftovers. Mighty expensive leftovers if you ask me. Hello Fresh did apologize however, and said they are working on it, and hope to have actual single servings in the (hopefully) near future. To my knowledge there is no meal kit companies serving BC that make provisions for single servings. Or if there is… Read more »
Absolutely, we appreciate the feedback. Think of this from the companies’ perspective – shipping and logistics are expensive for fresh products, and Canada is quite widespread… they have to have a minimum quantity, and I don’t see that ever changing for the big nationally operating companies. We are making our utmost efforts to find more smaller regional companies, these ones may be more flexible. We will let you know if we find any company in BC offering that (a company which we actually recommend using, of course).
You should add meels.com to the list as well! Great tasting food, great quality and great customer service.
Dear Meal Kits Canada Team, I so appreciate the service you provide, and am certain many find it useful. I am sure collecting all this info is demanding work. And sometimes mistakes happen. As Community Engagement Ambassador for Crave Healthiness, allow me to point out a mistake I am sure you are eager to correct. Our prices at Crave Healthiness range very close to those of other wonderful meal prep providers in our neighborhood. Our prices range from $16 – $26, not from $22 – $48. This gives visitors to your site the impression that we charge a premium compared… Read more »
