Chefs Plate is owned by HelloFresh but runs its own pricing and menu. It’s consistently the cheapest meal kit in Canada at regular retail prices, and a coupon drops it further. The recipes are simpler than HelloFresh’s, mostly 15- to 30-minute meals with fewer steps. If you want weeknight speed over culinary ambition, this is the one.

Goodfood Promo Code Canada
Goodfood (makegoodfood.ca) is a Montreal-based, Canadian-owned meal kit company publicly traded on the TSX (TSX: FOOD). Their subscription plans include vegetarian, family, and Clean15 (low-carb), all eligible for the same intro discount. Portions are bigger than HelloFresh or Chefs Plate, which we appreciate.
What changed in 2026
Goodfood relaunched in early 2026 with bigger portions and a new tagline: “dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow.” Co-founder Neil Cuggy stepped down in January, and Selim Bassoul took over as Executive Chair. That same month, the CFIA briefly suspended Goodfood’s licence over an administrative classification issue (not food safety). It was resolved within a week and operations resumed across all provinces.

The three services above all require cooking. Factor (factormeals.ca) skips that step completely: meals arrive fully prepared and heat in about two minutes. It’s part of the HelloFresh Group, available across most of Canada, and the food quality is well above your typical frozen meal. CookUnity works differently from the other services here. Instead of recipe kits or single-brand prepared meals, you choose individual dishes from a roster of independent chefs. The service launched in Ontario in mid-2025 (after acquiring Toronto startup Cookin) and had planned nationwide expansion by early 2026, but as of May 2026 it remains Ontario-only, delivering to 25+ cities with Toronto as the main hub.
What you get: Up to 80% off your first week for new users.
The menu rotates weekly and the quality varies by chef. That’s what makes it fun: once you find a chef you like, you can filter for their dishes every week. Plans start at 4 meals per week ($12.59/meal) and drop to around $9/meal if you go up to 16 meals. The per-meal cost is higher than HelloFresh or Chefs Plate, but you’re paying for restaurant-calibre food with zero prep. If you’ve been cycling between the same three takeout spots, CookUnity is a more interesting (and often cheaper) alternative.
